Some very rare diesel and electric loco recordings.
Featuring classes 15, 22, 23, 29, 46, 47, 50, 52, 55, 71, 74 and 76. Also Manchester DC EMUs, German V220 and in France, an A1A-A1A freight loco.
Recordings originally made in mono by the late Ron Collen-Jones, they now have a pseudo-stereo effect added by the publisher.
Recorded during 1968 to 1975.
Highlights include:
- A ride behind class 29 on a Mallaig service.
- Class 71s on the Golden Arrow.
- Baby Deltic and big Deltic on the same recording.
- Rides on the Manchester DC EMUs.
- A wonderfully nostalgic sequence on Holloway Bank, during a shortage of Deltics. A Peak hauls the down Scotsman. We also hear a Deltic, 47, and DMUs. Plenty of atmosphere.
- Class 50 on the Crewe load-bank.
Also featured are some poorer quality recordings from 1968, included for their rarity. Such as a ride behind Baby Deltic D5900 out of Kings Cross!
